Bathroom Update: Fixtures

The previous pics of the bathroom (here) highlighted the changes in the floor. You may have noticed the gaping hole for the drain. Well, it's now all sealed up with the fixtures! Over the weekend, we installed the sink, vanity, and toilet. What do you think?

  1. Simple, yet elegant, with subtle tones of the cottage feel, and an understated finish---oops, that was my wine tasting comments! Wrong page! Looks too perfect to actually use for everyday, but maybe for guests? Just out of curiosity, what color towels are you using to complete the new look?

  2. Lovely. Did you and Chris do all the work yourselves?

  3. Good question! We currently have dark/chocolate brown towels, and they blend in nicely. As far as new ones, though, I think a vibrant punch of color would be nice, too. Maybe deep red cranberry . . . eggplant royal purple . . . dark forest green . . . any of those would be on the "elegant" end of the spectrum . . . whereas a sky blue or lime green would be more contemporary.

Suffice to say, I haven't picked an accent color yet! ;-)

  4. Thanks for checking the blog! Yes, actually, we did all of the work you can actually "see"---shower surround, painting, caulking, beadboard, floor, lighting, exhaust fan! and the vanity and toilet install too.

I'll give props where they are due: the window installation, by the window folks, and the bit of plumbing, by the plumber. He was actually great: He was here twice to do installs on the new water heater and some gas lines, and during one of those visits, he gave me some of his time for "free" to help with the shower/bath.
